FAISALABAD – National Action Plan continues with the hanging of two more convicts in central jail Faisalabad early no Friday, PakistanTribe reported.
The death row prisoners, identified as Akhtar and Sajid were given death sentence in 2001
Akhtar had intruded into a house on December 10, 1999 and attempted to rape a woman. He also killed the father in Law of woman who had resisted against him.
Muhammad Sajid had killed a woman Khursheed Bibi and wounded her husband Azhar, on March 12, 2000, over a personal feud. He was awarded death sentence by an ATC court in Faisalabad, on March 30, 2001.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan had lifted all the moratorium on death sentence.
European Union and western community had protested against the hangings in Pakistan. Secretory General of United Nation, Ban Ki-moon had also tele-talked to Prime minister of Pakistan for uplifting of death sentence but Prime minister had answered him as Pakistan is going through the crucial times of its history and abnormal circumstances always expect abnormal decisions.
