LAHORE – Federal Minister for Water and Power -Khawaja Asif – said that water issue is an old issue which could not be overcomed immediately, PakistanTribe reported.
Khawaja Asif said that water is becoming a major issue for Pakistan in next years. He said that no one is concerned about the increasing water crisies in the country.
“Our elite wash their vehicles with drinking water, whereas a large population of Pakistan is deprived from drinking water,” he said.
Federal Minister also said that politicians have made water crises as a battlefield of their politics. He was pointing out the water reserves and politicians’ opposing politics over them.
“Crises is not natural, neither water crises not power, it is because of mismanagement,” the Minister said.
Khawaja Aisf was talking to media in Lahore earlier on Monday.
He also said that government is taking necessary measures to overcome the crises and in next three years the issue will be resolved.
He was hopeful as he said that the issue is due to miss management so good management will lead the country to overcome all the crises.
He also said that Pakistan will raise the question of international waters with India in international forum following Indus Water Treaty.
