BONEER – Women day was celebrated in Boneer with such a ‘respect’ for women as two girls were killed for honor by their own cousin  for not coming back in-time to home, PakistanTribe reported.

According to details, two girls who were named as ‘R’ and ‘M’, the siblings, were shot down by their cousin named Zafar last night on Sunday.

Batara police had registered FIR against Zafar and searching for him around.

Honor killing in Pakistan is one of the major issue faced by women. Sindh, Baluchistan, KPK and Northern Punjab are the areas where women face such problems. A woman was killed by her husband on the name of honor in Meerani area of Kandh Kot a month before.

Killing for honor is the destiny of woman in Pakistan. Police sources revealed that in murder of woman most of the women were killed only as they were suspected for being involve with other male and there was no surety for their involvement.

Women have never been given any chance to justify themselves or to defend.

The total number of women and girls who died between 2008-2012 due to murder, honor killings or suicide was 13,583, according to the data received from Aurat Foundation updated till 2013.

Five of the 10 districts with the highest incidence of honor killings are in Sindh.
