GILGIT – Militants had a complete planning before breaking the jail as an international media revealed that they had brainwashed the jail officials to get help in escape, PakistanTribe reported.

Inquiry commission which was set immediate after the escape of prisoners from Jail revealed that the prisoners had brain washed the jail officials before escaping.

Three head wardens, five wardens, one Frontier Corps (FC) official, one police official and a dispensary in-charge were suspended by the senior authorities.

“Prisoners had developed close ties with jail officials posted outside their barracks,” one of the official in investigation team told on anonymity.

It is worth mentioning that they were provided arms within the jail barracks and they had never been locked down that night.

Prisoners who had escaped were involved in killing of 11 mountaineers in Karakoram.

Earlier a day after the jailbreak incident in Gilgit, the Police had registered cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) against 7 officials for allegedly being negligent in delivery of duties.

The cases had been registered against Warden Akbar Zaman, Musa Alan, Havaldar Tahir, Havaldar Saifuddin, Aziz, Sepoy Muhammad Afzal and Frontier Constabulary official Arif. The cases have been registered at the Cantonment Police Station in Gilgit.

The clauses under which case number 12/15 has been registered are 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, and clause 109, 223, 224, 225 and 353 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The detained officials were presented in front of a judge, who gave them to the police on physical remand till 7th of March 2015.
