KARACHI – Anti Narcotic Force raided in Super Highway near ‘Sabzi Mandi’ (Fruit Market) in Karachi and seized 5 M.Ton of heroin, PakistanTribe received televised media reports.
The raid was conducted following the information received from already arrested accused who were trying to smuggle drugs from Jinnah International Airport Karachi.
“The drugs were buried in earth with such clever way that made it difficult to recover, Spokesman of ANF said.
He further told that “This consignment was to be smuggled to Holland.”
Earlier in December, ANF had seized over four tons of drugs, arrested four suspects and impounded two vehicles in five different operations in Rawalpindi, Pehsawar, Mardan, Hyderabad and Karachi.
In Killi Darogzai area of Baluchistan’s Kalat district, ANF personnel had seized 4,183kg hashish packed in sacks that were hidden inside clefts in a mountainous region.
According to preliminary investigation, the consignment was to be handed over to drug carriers and transported to Karachi for smuggling abroad.
The drug traffickers had fled after an exchange of fire with the raiding party.
In other operation, an ANF team intercepted a truck near Sheikh Maltoon Town in Mardan district and recovered 68.75kg opium and 7kg Charas. Stuffed in plastic packets, the narcotics were concealed in improvised cavities in the vehicle. The drug was being transported to Mardan from Bajaur Agency.
