NAPIER – Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi completed 8,000 One-Day International (ODI) runs during the Pakistan vs UAE, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match at Napier on Wednesday.
With that record he became the fourth Pakistan cricketer to score 8,000 ODI runs.He brought his 8,000 ODI runs by smashing a six over the cover.
Turning 35 during the tournament, Afridi announced at the end of last year that this would be his last time contesting in the ODIs after his fifth World Cup.
Entering the world of international cricket at just 16 in 1996, Afridi has been a consistent player. He made his presence felt across the world by smashing the then fastest-ever ODI century in his first innings at that level.
