ISLAMABAD – Government’s efforts for change in route of economic corridor from China are not acceptable for China as well as for opposition as in today’s senate session, opposition walks out against any possible change in Pak-China economic corridor.

Opposition walks out of the session as they recorded their protest against any possible change in Pak-China economic corridor.

Senate session is underway in the chairmanship of Nayyer Bukhari. Senator Abdul Rauf Lala says that government is wrongly putting the responsibility on China for change in route as China can not go for this without Pakistan’s request.

He pointed out the Baluchistan’s development and said that all the claims of government for developing Baluchistan are not more than fake promises with people of Baluchistan.

Pakhtunkhaw Milli Party said that all the people except Punjabis are citizens of class v who have been ignored every time.

On Sunday a Chinese official has denied that the route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has been changed and insists that both countries had agreed to only one route from the outset.

“Islamabad and Beijing agreed on a single route and the question of us changing it never arose,” journalists were told during an informal interaction in Islamabad on Sunday.

“Debate on the alignment of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will only create divergence between different regions and parties in Pakistan,” the official said. “It is not conducive to the unity and development of Pakistan and should come to an end for the country’s fundamental interest.”
