RAWALPINDI – Corp Commander meeting is under way in General Head Quarter Rawalpindi with a special focus on National security, PakistanTribe reported.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) had confirmed meeting last week. Raheel Sharif is presiding the meeting with a focus on the “effective implementation of National Action Plan in concert with federal and provincial governments, in order to eliminate terrorism, extremism and sectarianism without any discrimination.
Participants of meeting are to undertook a comprehensive review of internal and external security situation of the country.
All security issues including the progress made in Operation Zarb-e- Azb and Operation Khyber were also discussed in the meeting.
Further it is also matter of great concern for Pakistan Army that Afghan Taliban are interested in Peace Talks with government which will surely change the regional scenario.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan is, now, facing tension on its eastern border also. Unprovoked firing of Indian Border Security Forces are creating a permanent trouble for Pakistan as all the attention of top military leadership is diverted towards operation Zarb e Azb and National Action Plan.
Last week General Raheel Sharif had visited the eastern front and ordered soldiers not to tolerate such aggression from India. He had said that Pakistan is capable to retaliate massively but Pakistan Army want peace.
Further Indian top diplomat is also present in Pakistan to discuss bilateral issues including security.
