BARCELONA – At the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2015, Microsoft unveiled two new affordable smartphones in its Lumia series- the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 smartphone sports a 5-inch HD display and is packed with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. It includes 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone also comes with 15GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive.
The Office365 subscription that comes with the phone includes 1TB of storage on OneDrive and 60 minutes of Skype calling per month to landlines in over 60 countries and mobile phones in eight countries.

The smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash, a 1-megapixel front-facing camera for video-calling and is powered with a 2,500mAh battery.
Microsoft’s another latest smartphone in the Lumia line is the Lumia 640 XL, which has a display size of 5.7-inches and is powered with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The phone features 1GB of RAM and is loaded with Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim Update. The phone comes pre-installed with Office applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
The Lumia 640 XL has a 13-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and is powered with a 3,000 mAh battery.
The Lumia 640 will be available in glossy cyan, orange, white, and matte black. It will begin a global rollout in April. Pricing will vary by market and operator, but is estimated to be around 139 euros for the 3G model and 159 euros for the LTE model.
