ISLAMABAD – Intelligence information about any possible attack on Pakistan Day parade mattered a lot as Islamabad police, on the base of intelligence information, foiled a possible terrorist attack plan on Sunday, PakistanTribe reported.

Federal police claimed to have arrested two terrorists who were not only linked with last month’s attack on Imam Bargah in Khanna pull area but also they were planning a massive attack on Pakistan Day parade.

Both terrorists confessed to planning an attack during their interrogation. A large cache of weapons was also seized from their possession.

On Saturday, Federal police had launched a big crackdown against militants hiding in Capital territory and had arrested 11 militants of Mullah Fazalullah group, outlawed movement.

Police had claimed to have arrested the key figures of Mullah Fazalullah group in Islamabad.

Police stations of Abpara, Banni gala, Sihala and Kohsar participated in search operations.

“These terrorists used to accommodate the militants in Islamabad to conduct different activities,” told a police official who wish not to be mentioned here.

The arrest of 11 militants form Islamabad had jolted the senior authorities as Islamabad Police Inspector General (IG) Tahir Alam had instructed that the security should be tightened for every suspected Madrassa.

Total 15 Madrassas of Islamabad whom possible participation in any militant activity was informed already by intelligence agencies were under strict checking.

Islamabad Inspector General Tahir Alam personally taken up the matter and issued instruction about round the clock checking on suspicious Madrassas.

He had ordered the concerned officers to stay in touch all the time with the ones who are on duty of these Madrassas.
