Nawaz Sharif new order to end electricity problem in Pakistan | PakistanTribeISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed that industrial units should be provided enhanced electricity in order to bridge the energy supply gap.

Industries should get additional gas supply for two days in a week, he directed.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review the Energy situation in the country. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Finance Mr. Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning and development Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif and Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the Energy situation in the country.

The implementation status of the Jamshoro coal based power plant, Diamir Bhasha and Dasu dams and Tarbella extension project was discussed in the meeting. Prime Minister directed to enhance the pace of work on these projects. In order to overcome the energy shortage and provide cheap energy to the masses, the Prime Minister said that the more solar power projects should be explored.

He also directed the Ministry of Water and Power to provide projected demand and supply position of electricity from 2014-18 in order to adequately address the growing demand of Power. The Prime Minister also directed that he should be apprised of the implementation status of energy projects on regular basis.
