NORTH WAZIRISTAN – A remote control bomb attack on security forces’ convoy in Saroki area of North Waziristan on Saturday caused serious injuries to 12 security personnel, PakistanTribe learnt from televised media reports.
According to details, the security forces convoy was going to D I Khan from North Waziristan where it met an accident. A bomb was planted on roadside which blasted the same time when the convoy was passing.
12 security personnel reported to sustained serious injuries who were immediately shifted to Combine Military Hospital (CMH).
Waziristan is considered as the hub of terrorism in Pakistan and clashes between security forces and militants are reported very often.
Some months ago in a great operation against militants, at least 31 militants had been killed in air strikes and ground clashes in North Waziristan tribal region along restive border with Afghanistan.
At least twenty suspected terrorists were killed in military airstrikes in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency. PAF jets had pounded five militant hideouts in Dotoya, Tordara and Rajgaal areas.
“Militants launched a separate cross-border attack at a military post in the North Waziristan tribal district,” officials had said that time.
It is pertinent to mention that Pak Army says it has killed more than a thousand militants since the start of the operation, though the numbers cannot be independently verified as media does not have regular access to the combat zone.
