ISLAMABAD – Federal Government, on Friday burst the youth’s bubbles of joys as Federal Minister of Information Technology, Anusha Rehman said that the happiness of youth for ‘YouTube’ opening in some areas was due to technical fault which will be fixed shortly.
“The reason why YouTube was accessible in certain parts of the country was because of a technical fault which will be fixed,” said Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman on Friday.
She said that government had not officially allowed YouTube to be opened in any area of Pakistan, the excess on social broadcasting site was just a technical fault.
Anusha Rehman also said that government will consider the YouTube issue under cyber crime laws of Pakistan.
Anusha Rehman gave a reason for blocking the YouTube in Pakistan as she referred the France blasphemous caricatures and their impact on Islamic world, especially in Pakistan.
“We saw how a blasphemous content was shown in France and its fallout was seen in the streets of Pakistan. No government will take the responsibility upon itself to unblock YouTube until a concrete solution is found to deal with objectionable content on internet,” she said.
YouTube was blocked in Pakistan after the anti-Islamic video was published in September 2012 which sparked violent reactions the Islamic world. Religious class in Pakistan had almost suspended the system and burnt half of the country in a reaction of anti-Islamic video however this is another part of the game that President of Russia, the biggest rival country of US, who was supposed to visit Pakistan after decades to start a new age of bilateral relations, postponed which met Pakistan a great loss.
Some international Relation experts believe that Google-run YouTube deliberately published the video which was in great economic interests of European and west block against the emerging Asian markets.
