Lupita Nyong’o’s dress that caught the eye of everyone on the Oscars red carpet was stolen from her hotel room.
The stolen Calvin Klein dress which was designed by Francisco Costa was worn by the Academy Award winner actress on this year’s Oscar awards ceremony.
The Pearl dress which was custom-made is embellished with 6,000 natural white pearls. The dress was reportedly stolen from the Oscar winning 31 year old actress’s hotel room while the actress was not present.
According to Reuters, the actress revealed to them that she was also involved in the designing process of the dress which was inspired by the ocean.
Nyong’o who herself took home the Academy award for best supporting actress in 2014 for playing “Patsey” in the movie “12 Years a Slave” presented the award for best supporting actor at the 87th Academy Awards this year.
Police is trying to find the details about the thief by looking at the security cameras of the hotel where the actress was staying. According to reports, only the “Pearl dress” has been stolen from the actress’s room.
Lupita is known for her incredible fashion sense and was also a head turner on last year’s Oscars when she wore the sky blue Prada dress to receive her very first Academy Award.
