The popular Bollywood romantic drama film, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” is going to continue running on the screens of Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir after public outcry.
Earlier this month, it was decided by the production company of the movie; Yash Raj Films that the movie would no longer be screened. However, according to sources, Yash Raj Films is also behind the particular decision to continue with the screening of the movie.
The details as to how long this movie will run on the screens are still unknown. The public outcry was recorded when fans came to know of Yash Raj Films’ decision about discontinuing the screening of the movie. Also, it was financially not possible for cinemas to run this movie anymore because of the low turnout of audience.
In the subsequent days, there was a lot of negative public opinion regarding the issue on the social media websites. Many hashtags related to the movie and Maratha Mandir were seen on twitter especially.
According to sources, fans of the movie also contacted the Maratha Mandir administration directly and recorded their unhappiness over the news.
Last year in December, the movie completed 1000 weeks of running in the cinema. The Shahrukh Khan and Kajol starring movie was directed by Aditya Chopra.
Released in 1995, the movie is popular not only for its plot of the lead couple but also because of its music and melodious songs.
