LAHORE – The murder case of Areeba, whose body was packed in a bag, solved by Lahore police as Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras helped police to find murderer, PakistanTribe reported.
According to details the murdered girl Areeba who belonged to Sialkot shifted to Lahore as she wanted to be a model. She earlier stayed with her uncle but later she shifted to a girls hostel at Wahdat Road in Lahore.
She, for the sake of her learning, used to visit a make-up artist Tooba who later became very good friend of her.
On January 12, Tooba had invited Areeba for dinner in her house where Tooba’s friend tried to rape Areeba. On resistance, she was killed by Aslam who later stuffed areeba’s body in a bag and dumped outside a bus stand on Band Road next morning.
CCTV cameras recorded the details and face of Aslam while he was dumping the body.
Police officials claimed that Aslam, a rickshaw driver, admitted during questioning that, with permission from Tooba, he had allegedly attempted to rape Areeba. Upon resistance, they killed the aspiring model.
Wehdat Colony police had initially lodged an FIR for kidnapping against unknown people but later, Sherakot police booked Tooba and Aslam under Section 302.
SSP (Investigations) Rana Ayyaz Saleem said the prime suspect, identified as Tooba, was taken into custody for her alleged involvement in the killing of Areeba, who wanted to become a model. He said raids were being conducted to arrest the man who accompanied Tooba to the bus stand.
