CHRISTCHURCH – Reacting to the criticism from former Pakistani pacers, Mohammad Irfan has brought signifacant enhancement to his pace against West Indies.
The big giant looked pretty flat with his pace during the first world cup encounter against India last Sunday.
After conceding big defeat in first match against India, fomer Pakistani cricketers including Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar had crticized Mohammad Irfan’s pace and urged him to consistently touch the mark of 140 kph.
Head Coach Pakistan Cricket Team Waqar Younas, told media that the team management had worked a lot with the speed of Irfan in the net practice before the match.
Pakistan, after winning the toss against West Indies, opted to bowl first to utilize the freshness and solidity of the wicket. Mohammad Irfan along with Sohail Khan has reacted to the captain’s decision quite sound and managed to get two vital wickets in their first spells.
Pakistan is going with four bowlers against West Indies. Experts believe that the fast bowlers, especially Mohammad Irfan has to take the responsibility which seems so good so far.
Earlier, Wahab Riaz already bowled fastest ball of the mega event 2015 during the match against India at Adelaide, he bowled the fastest ball 154.3 kph to Indian Skipper MS Dhoni last week.
Pakistan pace attack is also backed with Rahat Ali, who is considered as fastest bowler in the domestic cricket of Pakistan.
