ISLAMABAD – The head of cardiology department of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad Dr Shahid Nawaz who was targeted last week outside the PIMs, could not survive anymore and passed away, PakistanTribe reported.
Dr Shahid Nawaz was targeted last week and rescued to hospital immediately but his condition was too critical to say any hopeful words.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced Rs 100 million for his medical treatment abroad. Also Young Doctors Association (YDA) had protested all over the country following the attack.
Dr Shahid Nawaz was first rescued in PIMS operation theater but due to unavailability of medical equipment he was shifted to Combined Military Hospital where he was under treatment.
Doctors was not hopeful for his life and said that he was at critical stage.
