ISLAMABAD – Federal Government decides to deploy security guards and sharp shooters in Federal capital’s hospitals, PakistanTribe reported.
According to details government has decided to appoint sharp shooters and security guards in Federal hospitals.
25-30 guards will be appointed in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) commonly known as Complex, Federal Government Services Hospital (Poly Clinic) and CDA hospital.
Federal Government has taken this decision following the attack on Doctor in PIMS hospital. Dr Shahid Nawaz, who was head of cardiology department was attacked by target killers who shot him when he was coming out of the ward.
In reaction, Doctors around the country, had protested against target killing attempt of Doctors.
The young doctors association (YDA) of Pims had announced a strike on Monday to condemn the shooting of the hospital’s cardiology chief at the premises on Saturday and demanded ‘foolproof security’ for all medical staff.
Dr Usman Khaild, president YDA PIMS, said all the outpatient departments of the hospital will remain closed and only the emergency department will remain functional.
“We all are under threat and it is not possible to work under such poor security”, he said.
A press release stated that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the incident in which Dr Shahid Nawaz, the hospital’s cardiology chief, was shot and critically wounded by unidentified attackers.
