Pakistan Loses Its Fielding Coach After Afridi, Ahmed And Umar Harsh WordsCHRISTCHURCH – Following a verbal clash with three major players, Pakistan fielding Grant Luden has reportedly quit his job.

“Pakistan fielding coach Grant Luden, disappointed with the team’s poor showing against India and unhappy with the attitude of senior players, tendered in his resignation soon after the Adelaide defeat,” Dawn reported.

Luden exchanged harsh words with all rounder Shahid Afridi, wicket keeper Umar Akmal and opener Ahmed Shahzad during a practice session yesterday.

According to sources, the fielding coach was bit angry over the growing comments of senior players over him leading him to raise the issue to Pakistan Cricket Board chief Sheharyar Khan.

Seeing no change in the situation, Luden thought it to be right to leave the putting another hurdle in the world cup campaign.

“Khan had directed team manager Naveed Akram Cheema to resolve the matter between the Luden and the players,” the sources further said. But it might not work.

Luden had joined the Pakistan team after quitting as Bangladesh’s trainer in May 2014 to sign a two-year contract with the PCB, Express Tribune added.

“Luden was appointed by former PCB chairman Najam Sethi soon after Waqar Younis was hired as head coach, Mushtaq Ahmad as spin bowling coach and Grant Flower as the batting coach,” it further said.

The same thing happen a couple of days back when Waqar Younis lost his temper over humiliating defeat against India. He showered some hot and harsh words to senior as well as junior players of the team.
