CANBERRA – Bangladesh to face Afghanistan in their first match of Pool A of ICC Cricket World Cup 15 tomorrow (Wednesday) at Manuka Oval in Canberra, Australia.
Captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza talking to Bangladeshi journalists in Canberra as reports received here today, revealed that Manuka Oval is good track to bat as the ball comes on at even height, so if you willing to play on the bounce, then there is a good chance for a team to score 300 runs.
Bangladesh has not played an international game for two-and-a-half months now, but going by this afternoon’s workout, they were putting in the effort in training. Barring Tamim Iqbal, who is feeling his way back from a knee injury and only faced throw downs and some offbreaks, the other Bangladesh batsmen had long stints in the side nets just outside Manuka Oval against both pace and spin. The fast bowlers ran in hard in the heat and tested their team-mates’ techniques.
Match will start at Manuka Oval in Canberra 14:30 local/03:30 GMT and will telecast in Pakistan at 8:30 pm.
