MUZAFFARGARH – A house hold lady in Multan attempted self-immolation because of clash with her in-laws and husband, PakistanTribe received televised media reports.

According to details, the lady was only 22 years old who attempted suicide following the clash with her in-Laws and her husband. She tried to immolate herself with petrol.

The injured lady was shifted to hospital immediately she was burnt. Doctors say that more than 90% body of the lady have burnt.

She was the resident of Bihari colony Muzaffargarh from where she was shifted to Nishtir Medical in Multan.

Yet no reports were received about Police’s follow up but it is expected that this incident will never be neglected by police as couple of cases may be observed where initially the case seems the matter of suicide but later result reveals as a murder act.

Parents of the girls have also reached in the hospital who did not recorded their statement either for girl’s suicide attempt or for her in-laws’ attitude.

Doctors are hopeful and trying to save her life however it was also said that more than 90% body of the girl suffered badly.

In Southern Punjab, incidents of self-immolation are very often reported as last year in August, a girl who had attempted self-immolation at her house, allegedly against ‘police injustice’, was shifted to burns unit of Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

Twenty-year-old ‘S’, a resident of Shakir Town locality of the city, was brought to Trauma Centre of the teaching hospital of DG Khan Medical College with 40pc burns.

From there she was referred to Nishrat Hospital as the trauma centre lacked burns unit.

Sources said the parents of ‘S’ alleged their daughter had been gang-raped by four men, but Darahma police registered a case against only the prime suspect and let his three accomplices off the hook.
