Another problem for telecom usersLAHORE – As the deadline arrives for the SIMs verification, another problem rises for millions of users as they have national identity cards issued before 2005.

All NICs issued before 2005 are without biometric verification causng extreme irritation for Ufone, Mobilink, Warid, Zong and Telenor users.

The worst thing is, a customer wandering from one NADRA office to another said, no one has bothered to mention this important thing in all ads or communication to users.

The only thing being communicated is that SIMs verification is required and the deadline is Feb 26.

“But no one tells you that all NICs holders, who got their card before 2006, would not be able to verify their SIMs via thumb impression,” he said.

He further said that now NADRA office have been thronged with such people wandering from one office to another to know the procedure of updating their thumb impression.

“I have visited two offices of NADRA and they have referred me to another office. They say it will take three days to update thumb impression, but what they don’t tell how many days it will take to get on the right spot in front of right persons.”

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority have also directed NADRA to facilitate all those who are visiting offices for the verification purpose.

“Special preference would be given to all those who need updating their thumb impression for the SIMs verification,” PakistanTribe.com has learnt.
