ISLAMABAD – Arms race in the South Asian region is increasing as a day after the successful launching of Indian Mobile-launcher for ballistic missile, Pakistan have also successfully conducted a Cruise missile, Ra’ad, experiment, PakistanTribe reported.
Media wing of Pakistan Army, Inter services Public Relations have confirmed that Pakistan have conducted a successful experiment to ‘Ra’ad’, an indigenously made cruise missile on Monday.
The range of this missile is 350km and it is capable of hitting its target in the sea and land. Also another feature of this missile is its efficiency for hiding itself from radar as it is made of such a material which is invisible in radar.
The missile type is Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) whereas two day before India had conducted the experiment of Inter continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).
Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, while congratulating the scientists and engineers on achieving yet another milestone of historic significance, termed it a major step towards strengthening Pakistan’s full spectrum credible minimum deterrence capability.
“Pakistan’s strategic pursuits are aimed at achieving strategic stability in the region,” he said.
All the team of scientists were appreciated by Premier Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain.
It is pertinent to mention that India had also conducted an experiment for launching a missile from mobile launcher, ranged to other continent and capable to nuclear warhead, earlier on Saturday.
