QUETTA – Authorities launched anti polio campaign in 22 high risk zones for vaccinating more than 0.2 million children of Quetta, PakistanTribe reported.
According to details, health department have launched anti polio campaign to vaccinate 299,964 children of less than five year in and around Quetta.
Total 616 teams were established for different areas.
These polio teams will work in 22 high risk security zones but with complete protection of police.
Office of Health department confirmed that all the polio workers will be protected with massive security given by police. Also it was said that no polio worker denied to visit the high risk zone as every worker was willing to vaccinate children.
Polio workers in all over the country face heavy reaction from miscreants as many have been gun down till yet. Earlier in Karachi more than three policemen have been shot dead who were appointed in polio worker’s security.
Also in Quetta Baluchistan, many times polio campaign have been postponed due to security threats for polio teams.
Last time at the start of January 2015, all arrangements were ready but a sudden postponed orders were received to the teams due to which the campaign postponed for some other time.
An official had commented that time the polio campaign will be launched again very soon but after the security arrangements as the polio workers’ security will be ensured.
