MUMBAI/THANE – Injured hearts of Muslims across the world had not yet recovered to normal when an editor of Urdu-Language magazine in Mumbai republished the caricatures of ‘Prophet Muhammad The Merciful ‘ due to which Mumbai police have arrested the editor on Thursday, International media reports received.
According to police , Shirin Dalvi, editor of the Mumbai edition of the daily Avadhnama newspaper, was arrested for republishing of anti-Islamic caricatures.
“She was arrested by us, produced in the court and granted bail. We are investigating the matter,” S.M. Mundhe, senior police inspector in Mumbra, told an international news agency.
The publishing of these papers have already jolted the whole Europe especially France as the magazine office was attacked and seven people had died in attack.
The editor was arrested under section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, which bans malicious and deliberate acts intended to outrage religious feelings.
Earlier last week all walks of life had observed black day to protest against the insulting activity of Charlie Hebdo, the French Weekly.
OIC had also taken sue notice on publishing and also security council had showed its concern over the publishing of caricatures.
Siraj-Ul-Haq – JI Chief in Pakistan – had warned the global community that the publishing of these caricatures is a conspiracy against world peace and a threat to global peace.
