NEW DELHI: Steps of Indian government are unexpected as immediate after the visit of US President Barack Obama and just prior to Russia, India China (RIC) summit, Indian government has replaced Foreign Secretary Sujhata Singh with a diplomat of foreign ministry, PakistanTribe received Indian media reports.

It is reported by the largest Indian English daily that Mr Jaishankar was chosen as foreign secretary of India as US President had pointed out the Devyani Khobragade incident during his visit.

Indian English daily quoted that  “Ms. (Sujhata) Singh had been given an extension which would have seen her tenure in normal course to August 31 this year. Sources confirmed that after the notification, Ms. Singh has put in her papers and sought voluntary retirement.”
