ISLAMABAD – Jinnah Institute -A Think Tank In Islamabad – organized tow-day ‘Ideas Conclave’ in Islamabad to share ideas, PakistanTribe reported.

Jinnah Institute organized two-days idea conclave which started today with the welcome address of Sherry Rehman,  chair person of Jinnah Institute Islamabad.

Sherry Rehman said that civil society have a growing capacity to articulate message that connects to engine of change.

Later other speaker also talked in different sessions. Riaz Hussain Pirzada -Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC)  has accused the Saudi government of creating instability across the Muslim world, including Pakistan, through distribution of money for promoting its ideology.

MQM leader Farooq sattar stressed on the need of true democracy in Pakistan. He said “we must not focus on sustainability of transitions but democracy itself”

Former State Bank governor Ishrat Hussain compared the relative meritocracy of the armed forces with the lack of it in the bureaucracy. He said that this is not the failure of democracy but we are not capable to deliver.

Dr Salman Shah brings up with economic vision of Nareendra modi as an example for Pakistan.

Sakib Sheerani criticized the national assembly for for abdicating its responsibility and not discussing its economic policies.

Khurram dastgeer National Assembly member said that “Governance remains shackled because of interruptions to democracy” he was talking about poll results.

Jibran Nasir talked about power and perils of media in Pakistan. He said “If there is a dissenting voice that is extremist, isolating it won’t help you. You must engage with it.”
