SHARJAH – Pakistan women cricket team beat Sri Lanka by 60 runs and equalize the three-match T20 series, PakistanTribe.com reported.
Skipper Sana Mir put a stellar all-round performance to help Pakistan cricket team equalize the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka recording a convincing 60-run victory in Sharjah on Friday.
Chasing a modest total of 124 runs, Sri Lanka started a shaky run chase. Captain Sana restricted the side to a paltry total of 69 runs capturing a four-wicket haul giving away only 14 runs in four overs.
Bismah Maroof also bowled well and captured two wickets. Chathurani Gunawardene (14 runs) and Ama Kanchana (10 runs) were the only players to reach double figures for Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Sana anchored Pakistan’s inning from collapsing and scored brilliant and unbeaten 48 off only 37 balls. Javeria Khan also chipped in important 25 off 21 balls as Pakistan put on board 124-6 in allotted 20 overs. Maduri Samuddika captured three wickets while Inoka Ranaweera took two.
The third and decisive match of the series will be played on January 17 at the same venue. Pakistan has defeated Sri Lanka in ODI series 3-0 during the ongoing tour.
