ISLAMABAD – People form all walks of life are observing ‘Black Day’ against blasphemous acts of French magazine Chelie Hebdo, PakistanTribe reported.
Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamatud Dawa, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Sunni Tehreek and Sunni Ittehad Council and other communities of Pakistan have announced on Thursday launching a countrywide protest movement against the publication.
All these parties have stood on the platform of ”Tehreek Hurmat-i-Rasool”. Thereek’s Chief Maulana Amir Hamza said “if 40 European countries could unite to show solidarity with the journal, all 57 Muslim countries should also unite for safeguarding the sanctity of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”
All the leaders of religious and political parties strongly condemned the anti-Islamic sketches.
JI Chief Sirajul Haq also announced a countrywide protest against the publications whereas Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri demanded a meeting of the organization of Islamic Countries (OIC).
It is pertinent to mention that Pope Francis – the religious leader of Catholics – have also strongly condemned the act of Charlie Hebdo and said that “every one who insults other’s religion should expect a punch in his nose.”
