Civil Society Members Possibly Be Arrested In Pakistan Over Remarks On Prophet (PBUH)

Derogatory remarks in Pakistan on FacebookISLAMABAD – Few members of Civil Society are going to face harsh results over their careless comments about Prophet (PBUH) and Hazrat Aisha (RA).

Aabpara Police Station is investigating the comments from members of civil society representative on Facebook, the world’s largest social network.

According to sources, a sub inspector is working on the case.

Applicant Qari Abdul Waheed, General Secretary Aalmi Majlis e Tahafuz e Khatme Nabuwat, Islamabad, has complained the remarks against Jibran Nasir and her companion Alishba Zarmeen.

After the complain, the police, starting investigation over issue, has contacted Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to access Facebook and Twitter Accounts of both the reported accused besides other members.

Legal action will be taken after seeking the IP addresses of these persons, it is further learnt.

Any derogatory comment over Prophet (PBUH) is strictly forbidden in Islam and there are strict laws against those who commit this crime. The timing of comments is crucial as the world is already facing a challenge emerged after a ‘hunger for fame’ periodical Charlie Hebdo attacked.
