KARACHI – Opposition leader in the National Assembly and PPP senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah urged MQM to hold the protest instead of strikes and Sharjeel Memon urged MQM to review their decision of extending Day of Mourning.
Syed Khursheed Shah said that MQM hold protest instead of observing strike over its party worker’s demise in police custody.
Talking to media Sunday, the opposition leader suggested that inquiry should be conducted to find if the deceased were terrorists.
He said that MQM is a political party and PPP is always in contact with the second largest political party of Sindh.
“School vacations should be further extended till improvement of security in the province,” he opined.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday urged MQM to review their decision of extending Day of Mourning.
Talking to media here, Memon said that judicial commission was formed on the MQM’s demand. The minister said that the 15-minutes deadline given by the MQM chief not appropriate as nothing can be done in such a short time.
It is to be mentioned here that MQM chief Altaf Hussain had said earlier this morning that if Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah did not go to condole death of slain party worker Faraz Alam in 15 minutes, the day of mourning and strike will be extended till tomorrow. “Government is always ready for talks with MQM”, he added.
