ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member National Assembly and former CEO of Engro Corporation Asad Umar has been elected as chairman of Standing Committee on Industries and Production, PakistanTribe.com reported.
After winning the election of the committee, 50-year old Asad Umar has conducted first meeting of the body on Monday at Parliament House Islamabad.
After serving Engro Chemical as the Chief Executive and President for 8 years during a 27-year career with the company, Asad Umar resigned and joined Imran Khan led PTI to take part in the politics.
Currently he is serving the party as the Policy head, Central Senior Vice President and the elected Member of the Parliament from Islamabad’s constituency NA-48. He secured 48,073 votes in by-elections.
