ISLAMABAD – After the official approval of President of Pakistan the 21st amendment of constitution provided legal room for establishment of Military Courts.
PakistanTribe received reports that President of Pakistan has signed the bill about 21st amendment in the constitution duly approved by National Assembly last day.
This signature of bill have legalized the decision of establishment of Military courts.
Earlier the National Assembly on Tuesday has already approved the 21st Constitutional Amendment and Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill 2015, unopposed as 247 members voted in favor of the laws which will provide constitutional cover to special courts for the trial of terrorism suspects.
The government again attempted to convince the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F (JUI-F) to agree with the amendments as the parliamentarians belonging to both these parties did not vote in National Assembly session.
Both the parties of right wing are against the Madrassa reforms and said that government is deliberately trying to put all the blame on Madrassas.
However Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said last week that the courts will have a limited mandate.
“Military courts will not be used against any politician, seminary, businessman, media person or common citizen,” he said. “Nor is it a forum for dispensation of justice.”
