FAISALABAD/LAHORE – Lahore high court delayed hanging of Shareef and Faiz and took strict notice against superintendent jail Faisalabad for taking the death warrants of Criminal Faiz from court as his appeal was still under hearing in supreme court.
Lahore high court has strictly ordered superintendent police Faisalabad jail as he he took the death warrant from court to hang the criminal Faiz who’s case was still under hearing.
The brother of criminal Faiz knocked the Lahore high court’s door as jail authorities were not following the orders of court and had got death warrants of Faiz from court without presenting the proper information before the court.
High court said that all the officials in Punjab police are not capable as this was the case of life and death. Court has rejected the warrants of both criminals -Faiz and Shareef – imprisoned in Faisalabad Jail
High court also asked superintendent Jail Faisalabad to give a written note to court that these prisoners will not be hanged before any decision form Supreme court.
The divisional Bench headed by Mr Justice Sardar Tariq Masud was prayed by the petitioner Muhammad Faiz that his appeal against the decision of trial court was pending with the Supreme Court but the superintendent Faisalabad Jail got the black warrants from the trial court and has fixed the date of execution on 14th of January,till the appeal is decided ,superintendent could not get the black warrants.
The state lawyer confirmed that the prisoner’s appeal in the same case is pending the Apex Court,upon that the divisional bench stopped the execution and called the superintendent jail for hearing.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier Faiz and Shareef were to be hanged on 25th Dec 2014 but their execution was delayed as the executioner was Christian and he refused to to hang anyone on the day of Christmas.
