LAHORE /PINDI BHATTIAN – Motorway from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian has been closed due to heavy and dense fog which made the visibility level near to zero at motorway, PakistanTribe reported.
Despite the efforts of motorway police against dense fog motorway has been closed once again as the visibility level was zero.
Ten days ago Inspector General of Motorway Police Zulfiqar Khosa had stressed that “now onward motorway will be open for traffic and will never be closed due to fog or any reason.”
Talking about heavy fog and increasing accidents he had given an action plan that “vehicles will travel in a convoy led by motorway police. He further described that motorway police mobile vehicles will run with the convoy in case of heavy fog.”
But all the efforts and strategies were failed as dense fog made it hard to drove even for some kilometers due to which police had to block motorway to avoid any unpleasant incident in the way.
The Motorway police have appealed the drivers to use GT Road for travel from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian. The Motorway police have also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. They also requested people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
