PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has arrived in Peshawar to attend high-level meeting of Provincial Apex Committee on security of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa.
Senior military commanders and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence are also attending the meeting.
The government on Saturday had constituted special panels for all the four provinces to oversee implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).
Director General ISPR Major General Asim Salim Bajwa also tweeted about the COAS meeting in Peshawar.
The panels, to be called Provincial Apex Committees (PACs), would include the civilian leadership of the province concerned and the commanders of the Army corps in that province.
Sources told that these PACs would act as a coordination forum between the civilian and military leadership at the provincial level to implement the National Action Plan on counter terrorism.
