KARACHI – Sindh Government is is finalizing the water issue in Tharparkar as it has completed installation of 150 reverse osmosis water filter plants in Tharparkar , PakistanTribe reported.
Water issues and dying people due to thirst in Tharparkar has became the headline for the last couple of months as every passing day infants are dying due to less food, medicine clean water.
Discussing the issue and presiding the meeting in CM house Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah Chief Minister of Sndh said that “The largest reverse osmosis (RO) plant of Asia having capacity to filter two million gallons per day will be inaugurated by former president Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday.”
CM also talked about the budget and told that under the Rs5 billion schemes, 750 RO plants were being installed in Thar. He added “This would solve their basic problems of drinking water. Out of 750 RO plants, 150 have been installed.”
Further he told that the water filter plant that the Sindh Coal Development Authority has installed near Mithi is the largest in Asia. He said that “The RO plant in Mithi will filter a million gallon of water using solar energy and another million on electricity.”
He also told that Former president Asif Ali Zardari will inaugurate this plant.
Talking about the importance and benefits of the the plant ,Minister for Livestock Jam Khan Shoro said “Improved water supply will bring economic opportunities to subsistence dairy farmers of Thar, if only milk-chillers are installed to enhance the life of milk so that it remains fresh till wholesalers come to villages to buy it.”
