ISLAMABAD –  Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan  neither confirmed nor denied the reports of his marriage published in British tabloid newspaper Daily Mail, opting instead to simply say via Twitter that the report was “greatly exaggerated”.

The report, published last night, alleged that Imran had secretly married Reham Khan, a journalist who formerly presented the weather on the BBC, on December 27, against the wishes of his party and family.

Anchor Shahid Masood, known to be close to Imran, was also ambiguous about the development. Instead, he urged Imran on television to come clean.

While Imran has at least addressed the allegation, Reham’s Twitter account has been silent.

Many on Twitter have already taken Imran to task on his statement, asking how exactly a report of someone being married can be ‘exaggerated’.

Imran Khan’s sibling, Aleema Khan, has strongly rejected the reports of her brother’s marriage with former BBC weather girl Reham Khan.

Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan, refuted all reports regarding alleged secret marriage of her brother with Reham Khan. She clarified that the Khan family was still searching out a ‘suitable woman’ for Imran’s marriage.

She termed it a part of conspiracies by political opponents of Imran Khan which were trying to damage his popularity.

Earlier for few day, rumours started circulating that Imran Khan has tied the knot secretly with a journalist Reham Khan who works for a British organisation although family members were against the marriage, reports say. According to British media reports, Imran Khan and Reham Khan tied the knot despite knowing that Imran’s family was against the marriage.
