WASHINGTON DC – President Barack Obama expressed hope that Iran would become a very successful regional power and that the U.S. would reopen its embassy in Tehran, PakistanTribe received international media reports.
US President Obama hoped that US will successful in normalizing the relation with Iran and there may be a peaceful deal with Iran regarding nuclear weapons.
Earlier US acknowledged that Iran sponsors terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah, that Iran has attempted to acquire a nuclear weapon and diplomatic relations of Iran and US are based on hostility but he insisted repeatedly that a peaceful nuclear deal was in the best interest of both Iran and the United States.
President Obama in an interview said that “If we can take that big first step, then my hope would be that that would serve as the basis for us trying to improve relations over time.”
He talked about the strategic importance of Iran and said that Iran has potential to play positive role in regional politics.
He said that “There’s incredible talent and resources and sophistication inside of Iran, and it would be a very successful regional power that was also abiding by international norms and international rules, and that would be good for everybody.”
It is pertinent to mention that Obama also took first step to shake hand with Cuba with whom US had no diplomatic relation for the last 50 years.
