ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned a key security meeting on Tuesday to discuss national anti-terror plan, PakistanTribe.com reported.
According to details, the meeting will be attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Pakistan’s spy chief, Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhter.
Sources told that the civil-military leadership will hold discussion relating to the implementation of the national anti-terror plan.
It was further reported that officials will brief the participants of the meeting about security affairs of the country.
Earlier to this, Punjab CM, Shahbaz Sharif also called on the prime minister and discussed with him the anti-terror strategy and its implementation in Punjab.
Earlier, a meeting of parliamentary leaders is being held in Islamabad on Wednesday to finalize a national action plan to counter terrorism and extremism.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will chair the meeting. The plan has been prepared by a Parliamentary Committee in consensus with all political stakeholders.
The National Action Plan Committee on Counter-terrorism has finalized its recommendations to fight terrorism.
The Committee after holding two lengthy sessions with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in the chair in Islamabad thoroughly discussed proposals by joint working group.
Director General ISI Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Shareef attended the meeting.
