ISLAMABAD – Inspector General Motorway Police Zulfiqar Cheema said that Motorway will remain open for traffic whatsoever the situation of weather there will be, PakistanTribe reported.
According to sources Inspector General of Motorway Police Zulfiqar Khosa said that now onward motorway will be open for traffic and will never be closed due to fog or any reason.
Talking about heavy fog and increasing accidents he gave an action plan that vehicles will travel in a convoy led by motorway police. He further described that motorway police mobile vehicles will run with the convoy in case of heavy fog.
Earlier in morning motorway was opened for traffic from Islamabad to Pindi Bhattian as there were less fog in this area.
It is pertinent to mention that Motorway Police had closed the motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad as the visibility level was zero on Tuesday.
As per details, the visibility at Motorway M1 had dropped to 20 meters whereas visibility range at Motorway M2 had been recorded as 10 to 30 meters from Islamabad to Chakri Interchange.
The visibility at M2 from Bhera to Sheikhupura was 10 meters, however, 0 visibility was being recorded from Ravi Toll Plaza to Kalashakaku.
Motorway police had suspended the traffic flow at Motorway M2 and have also advised the citizens to travel through G.T Road.
