LAHORE: The Allama Iqbal International airport Airport has been shut down due to dense fog whereas Motorway has also been closed, PakistanTribe.com reported.
All the Lahore-bound flights – domestic or International – have been diverted to other airports. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) officials have requested citizens to call help-lines for information to avoid any inconvenience, the channel said.
Motorway from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian has been closed due to zero visibility. The motorway has been shut down for all kinds of traffic due to thick haze while traveling on GT Road has been denied. Motorway officials have requested people to avoid traveling through motorway at night.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the fog would continue to cloud the province.
The Allama Iqbal International airport’s operations have also been shut down and the international and domestic flights coming to land there have been deviated to other airports.
The police have stopped the entry of vehicles into Lahore via motorway while the visibility at various places on the highways is zero percent.
In Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the schedules of flights and railways have been severely disrupted.
