ISLAMABAD – Parliamentary committee has approved a code of conduct for media for mature reporting of any terrorist activity, PakistanTribe reported.
Parliamentary committee has decided to desalinize media for mature reporting of any terrorist activity and any new relating to terrorists. It was said that media will not broadcast any statement given rom any outlawed militant organization.
Also a sanction was imposed that no live coverage will be given for any terrorist activity. It was also discouraged that no media channel will broadcast the pictures of victims of terrorists attacks.
Special Broadcast Tribunals for keeping the check over media channels will be established. Summary draft have sent to government for further proceedings.
It is worth mentioning here that During the sad incident many news channels aired the footage of operation scene. Students were interviewed and asked for their testimonials on the attack.
Azhar Abbas, President and CEO of upcoming Pakistani news channel, BOL NEWS had also criticized the media behavior as he said “Why on earth do the TV channels have to air children’s interviews, asking them ridiculous questions.”
Media channels also showed the positions of security forces and their movement. Some parents were also interviewed and asked about their son’s identities who were in the school.
