LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to include off spinner Saeed Ajmal in the 15-member World cup squad, PakistanTribe.com.
According to Internation Cricket Council (ICC) sources Saeed Ajmal would be able to play in the World Cup if his action is cleared. In case he is unable to get the clearance Pakistan would be allowed to include a replacement even after the deadline.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan has said that Pakistan off-spinners Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez will leave for India within a couple of days to be tested for their illegal bowling action.
PCB has planned to send both players to the ICC-accredited biomechanics laboratory in Chennai.
“Both the bowlers are very important for us and we are hoping that they make return tobowling soon. If the results of the bowlers are favorable, we will then approach ICC for anofficial bowling test of the two bowlers,” Shaharyar said.
Spin maestro Saeed Ajmal was banned in September earlier this year while Hafeez faced ICC suspension after his bowling action was revealed to be illegal during the first test against New Zealand.
