WASHINGTON DC – US and Cuba shakes hands after 50 years of hostile relations and establish embassies again in each other country, PakistanTribe received international media reports.
US tied hand with Cuba after 50 years of hostility and established its embassy in Cuba for strengthening the bilateral relation. World leaders have appreciated a historic move by the US to end more than 50 years of hostility towards Cuba and restore diplomatic relations.
Almost all leaders in Latin America and Europe welcomed the positive step of US President Barack Obama and Cuban President.
The efforts were made by Pope Francis. He also congratulated both men for establishing friendly relations for the better future of generations. Pope Francis sent “warm congratulations” to Mr Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro for overcoming “the difficulties which have marked their recent history”.
Both the leaders have agreed a number of measures to improve ties, including the release of prisoners on both sides.
Announcing the move, President Obama said the “rigid and outdated policy” of isolating Cuba had clearly failed and that it was time for a new approach.
It is pertinent to mention that for the last one year Back Door Diplomacy was going on with support of Canada and Vatican to establish the diplomatic relations.
The European Union declared it as a “historical turning point” while leaders meeting at a Latin America summit in Argentina warmly welcomed the decision.
