BANGALORE – Sources revealed that twitter account of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) aka DAISH has been running in Bangalore India by a person named Mehdi, International Media reports.
International media sources revealed that the twitter account of DAISH has been running by an Indian citizen Mehdi who is residing in Bangalore with his family. He is doing job in an international advertising agency.
Pictures, videos and information about latest achievements, donations and other appeals from ISIS were uploaded from account. His account was @ShamiWitness which is no longer operational.
Talking to an international media channel Mehdi told that he could not find opportunity to join DAISH because of circumstances and family issues but he will join them when ever he got chance.
Bangalore police have detained Mehdi for tweeting pro-ISIS tweets however real identity of Mehdi has not revealed yet by Police.
Early on Saturday, three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers confirmed that a man has been picked up in connection with ISIS. He had been promoting ISIS fighters through his tweets and encouraging them.
It has not confirmed that the detained guy is Mehdi or someone else but it is confirm that police has detained a person in the same case.
The Twitter account @ShamiWitness is no longer operational. Mehdi used to receive information and pictures about ISIS by his friends in UK and in different countries of the world.
According to sources the account operator have claimed that he was in contact with British jihadis before they left to join the ISIS and after they arrived.
Sources further reveled that Mehdi posted thousands of updates to his Twitter account every month, usually from his mobile phone on his twitter account @ShamiWitness.
He also tweeted in November that “May Allah guide, protect, strengthen and expand the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Islamic State brought peace, autonomy, zero corruption, low crime rate.”
