ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad exonerated former president Asif Ali Zardari in two corruption references, PakistanTribe reported.
The court heard the ARY Gold and Ursus Tractors references against former President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday and acquitted in the ARY Gold and Ursus Tractor corruption references.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned till 17th December.The Cotecna and SGS reference will be heard in the next hearing.
It should be noted that Asif Ali Zardari has already been acquitted by the AccountabilityCourt in the Polo Ground reference.
The case is related to granting licences to ARY traders for import of gold and silver which caused losses to the public exchequer, amounting to approximately Rs18.2 million.
Ursus tractors deal
Ursus tractors case deals with alleged misappropriation in the purchase of 5,900 Russian and Polish tractors at a cost of Rs150,000 each, for the then Awami Tractor Scheme.
The Ursus tractors purchase deal allegedly caused a loss of Rs268.3 million to the ADBP and Rs1.67 billion to the State Bank.
