LONDON – Chief of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain terminated the services of the party’s Rabita Committee (coordination committee) of London and Karachi on Wednesday.
Altaf Hussain announced the name of Qamar Mansoor as acting incharge of ‘Rabta Committee’ and doctor Nusrat and Aslam Afridi appointed as acting coordinator of Pakistan committee.
The reason for the decision could not come to light as yet. The MQM chief is to hold an important press conference shortly today.
Altaf had said on Monday that his party would either continue existing or vanished, but no grouping will be allowed in the MQM.
He had also threatened to quit the position of the party chief and asked his followers to select someone else if they did not want to see him as their leader.
