WASHINGTON DC – US Congress announced $ 300 million aid for Pakistan in extension of one year with new conditions, PakistanTribe learnt from international media reports.
US Congress has proposed for one year extension in aid given to Pakistan for war against Haqqani Network in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Congress put some conditions in this Coalition Support Programme (CSP). Pakistan will not be given more than one billion US dollar in this extension of one year. In addition US Defense Secretory is no more authorized to give aid of $ 300 million to Pakistan without approval of US Congress.
Defense Secretory will have to assure US Congress that hideouts of extremists have completely destroyed and free movement of Taliban in the territory has now come to end. Pakistan will utilize all this fund in war against extremists in North Waziristan Agency. Further more US Congress also needs surety that after the operation will over these extremist will not be able to again re-organize in the area.
Pakistan was given $ 371 million aid in current year earlier in October as the latest installment.
It is also not to forget here that recently General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, visited US and received ‘Binding Force’ as title for Pakistan Military from Secretary of States John Kerry.
